Beginning artists may ask us to assess their contracts by means of a Quick Scan. The main features of the contract are assessed and the artist is advised on potential points for improvement.   

This is not limited to legal aspects. The advice may also address royalty fees or percentages stipulated by the party offering the contract. The artist himself is responsible for subsequent negotiations. Of course, the artist may also ask Bousie Lawyers to conduct the negotiations at the hourly fees applicable to that service. The Quick Scan, however, is offered at a fixed amount per contract.  

How does the Quick Scan work? The main features of the contract are analyzed and the advice based on this analysis is discussed by telephone. Mind you: a Quick Scan is not the same thing as a full assessment of a contract.

Any contract may be submitted. Because the title of a contract does not always match its contents, Bousie Lawyers determines in advance the type of contract that is involved.  In some cases Bousie Lawyers may not be able to assess a contract, for example where the contract offered was drafted in the past by a lawyer from Bousie Lawyers or where the party offering the contract is a client of Bousie Lawyers.

 All charges listed are exclusive of VAT and 6% office fees. Changes in the rates are reserved. The above list and charges relate to Dutch-language contracts. English-language contracts are subject to an extra fee of €50 per contract.

All Quick Scans are carried out only upon full payment in advance and in accordance with the general terms and conditions used by Bousie Lawyers. The general terms and conditions include a limitation of liability clause.
